Established in 2018 by Sophie Clapperton, our multi-disciplinary design studio embodies a passion for creating transformative spaces that elevate the lives of our clients and enhance their contextual environments.

Sophie’s journey into the world of design began at a young age, where she honed her craft by collaborating on projects with her family. This early immersion provided invaluable experience and a solid foundation upon which she built her career.

Growing up in Toronto and vacationing in Muskoka, Sophie developed a love of landscapes. Her familiarity with her home landscapes blends with her knowledge of world architecture, to create carefully cultivated designs, specific to their location and global architectural trends.

Driven by a desire to raise the standard of residential design, Sophie recognized a need for quality, detail-oriented work in the marketplace. Armed with years of industry experience and a dedication to excellence, she founded Sophie Clapperton Designs Inc. to address this gap.

Her vision was clear: to deliver designs that not only inspire but also prioritize functionality, sustainability, and meticulous craftsmanship.

At SCD we pride ourselves on our commitment to advanced building science principles, ensuring that every project is not only aesthetically stunning but also environmentally conscious and energy-efficient.

Since our inception, SCD has evolved to offer a comprehensive range of design services, including architectural design, interior design and interior decorating/furnishing.
